Adding Life to Living

Advocacy: Gat Jose Rizal affirmed that "Kabataan ang Pag-asa ng Kabataan". As youth, we are performing a vital role in nation-building, decision-making, and vision-mission process. According to the Philippine Statistics Office (PSO) Census of Population and Housing, "Youth accounts for less than a third of the household population". Hence, 28.9 percent of the Philippine demographic is the future professional of the Philippines and the world. We have to provide an intervention that will shift the paradigm of the status quo of my fellow youth Filipinos.

Advocacy: Education is a Weapon which Can Change the World

My advocacy is to promote the importance of a quality basic education for all children, youth, and adults. There should be maximum support from our government to meet the needs of every student who is dreaming high to achieve their goals. Governments should maintain or increase investment in education of their national budget. Prioritizing or investing on Filipinos education is like digging golds in every Filipinos future. Because for me a quality education changes everyone’s life. Therefore, I will a create a project entitled "Lakbay Aral" a mobile Library system that aims to educate the children in different parts of our city and even take them to different libraries across the metro to further their learning. Investing in education is an investment in the future of individuals, societies, and the world.

Advocacy: ADVOCATE OF CHILDREN IN CONFLICT WITH LAW

I am advocating the Children in conflict with law. We barely know that in our Brgy. which is the Brgy. Catmon has a cases in which at the early age they have been forced by the status of life to commit unusual activities that inappropriate for us. On the other hand our City itself has a numerous salient cases which we truly needs to put a focus. On a small home town street in the city of Malabon is a two-story building. The structure could be mistaken for one of the many public schools in the Philippines. But in reality, the building serves as the temporary home of minors facing criminal cases. We should be very sensible in terms of addressing those children because they aren’t criminals they are the children who are deprived in life, neglected and forced by the social status.

Advocacy: ADVOCATE FOR MENTAL HEALTH: Normalizing seeking help

Mental health awareness has been the ‘talk’ up to this day, especially among the teenagers which you can see all over social media, raising awareness and educating people about this issue. it is an internal crisis within a person that involves changing in emotion, way of thinking, and behavior.

As our world revolves, several problems emerge that can affect people in different ways including our mental health. Issues around COVID-19 left us threatened and we went through quarantine which made the majority of us experience the same thing such as isolation, loneliness, anxiety, and depression. As a student with a platform to influence, I will use my voice to spread awareness about mental health issues which some of us are facing in the present moment. We do not want to live in a world where we feel that we live a solitary life and we do not want others to go through it. Taking care of one’s mental health is an essential thing for our well-being and how we influence the people around us. You are not alone. You are seen. I’m with you!

Advocacy: Special education is a type of education that is designed to meet the needs of students with disabilities. It provides additional support, tailored instruction, and specialized services to help students with disabilities reach their full potential. Special education programs can be expensive, and some people argue that the resources could be better used to support general education programs or other social services.

On the other hand, advocates for special education argue that these programs are essential to ensure that all students have access to education, regardless of their disabilities. They argue that without special education programs, many students with disabilities would be excluded from mainstream education and would not receive the support they need to succeed academically and socially.

Ultimately, the decision of whether or not to have special education programs in a city is a complex issue that involves weighing the costs and benefits of these programs. It is important to consider the needs of all students and to ensure that everyone has access to education and the resources they need to succeed.

NICKY HARLAND GATCHALIAN

Barangay Ibaba

Advocacy: As a youth of Brgy. Ibaba, I am committed to advocating for comprehensive programs tailored to the needs of our youth. These programs will equip them with the necessary tools and resources to manage their emotions and behaviors effectively. By addressing misbehavior in a constructive and compassionate manner, we can empower our peers to develop vital skills and resilience that will guide them towards a successful and meaningful life.

Additionally, I am acutely aware that many children in our community face the harsh realities of child labor, abuse, and the allure of drugs, gangs, and bullying. Therefore, my advocacy extends to providing them with holistic support. Through complete and impactful programs, we will enlighten them on how to harness the tools and resources offered to them. This will encompass vital aspects such as mental health, physical well-being, education, and raising awareness.

By focusing on the development and empowerment of our youth, we can foster a generation that embraces its potential and contributes positively to our barangay. Together, we will ensure that each child and teenager becomes the best version of themselves, surpassing their previous limitations.

Join me in championing these initiatives, fellow youth of Brgy. Ibaba. Let us create a more meaningful, positive, and harmonious community where our voices are heard, and our actions make a lasting impact. Together, we can shape a brighter future for ourselves and for the generations to come.

Advocacy: Empowering the Youth of Brgy. Longos: Nurturing Entrepreneurs, Building a Better Future - I firmly advocate for the empowerment of entrepreneurial ventures among the youth in Malabon City. Promoting initiatives designed to foster financial independence and freedom has an essential effect on young people as it increases their financial literacy and expertise, and on Malabon City as this initiative will generate economic development. I always support encouraging youths to establish a sense of entrepreneurship, as it drives them to think strategically, creatively, and come up with innovative approaches. Knowing that we are the future of society, it is our responsibility to work and engage in pursuits that are beneficial and valuable to the community and ourselves as individuals.

Advocacy: Mental health is a critical aspect of overall health and well-being, yet it is often overlooked and stigmatized in our society. As a future leader, I believe that advocating for mental health awareness is crucial to improving the lives of those who are struggling with mental health issues. Mental health awareness involves educating people about the signs and symptoms of mental illness and the importance of seeking help. It also involves raising awareness about the impact of stigma on individuals with mental health issues and the need for more accessible and affordable mental health services. We can help to break down the barriers that prevent people from seeking help and create a more supportive and compassionate community for those who are struggling with mental health issues. We can also help to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and promote greater understanding and empathy towards those who are affected. It is therefore essential to prioritize mental health awareness in our communities, schools, and workplaces. We can achieve this through open dialogue, education, and the provision of resources and support for those who are struggling with mental health issues. Together, we can create a society that values and prioritizes mental health, where individuals can seek help without fear of judgment or stigma.

Advocacy: I believe it's my responsibility to be a voice for others. That's why I'm participating in the Ginoo at Binibining Malabon pageant, to reach a wider audience and have a bigger platform to promote my advocacies. One of which is quality education. Being a graduate of Alternative Learning System (ALS) in 2018, I want to ensure that no student is left behind and that everyone receives an equitable, transformative, and quality education. Education is a right for everyone, regardless of their background, social status and health condition. I firmly believe that as Ginoo ng Malabon, I can represent the underrepresented and be a quintessence of greatness. Unfortunately, pets are also vulnerable to acts of cruelty, which can take many forms, including neglect, physical abuse, and abandonment. As pet owners and animal lovers, it is our responsibility to stand up against animal cruelty and ensure that our pets are treated with the love and respect they deserve.

Advocacy: Advocating for street children's right to Education. Living a life seeing childrens staying beside the streets, having lack of education and doing illegal things is very alarming to my heart. I made this advocacy to motivate them and to push them to go to school, to experience good education, to have new friends different from old ones, to redirect their path to the right path and to realize how education is very important in life. Let not only the name "Malabon" will experience the word "AHON" but also those street childrens will immersed in the bad water of bad deeds and rise to the right education.

DANIEL CASIMIRO

Barangay Tanong

Advocacy: A pleasant day everyone I am Daniel Casimiro Ginoo from Tañong, and my advocacy is about promoting cultural exchange and sustainable tourism.

As a pageant contestant, I am passionate about promoting cultural exchange and sustainable tourism. I would use my platform to showcase the rich history and diverse cultures of my country, while also highlighting the importance of responsible and ethical tourism practices. To kick off my advocacy campaign, I would organize a cultural festival in my local community, inviting people from different cultural backgrounds to come together and celebrate their traditions. The festival would feature music, dance, food, and crafts from a variety of cultures, and would serve as a platform for cultural exchange and understanding.

In addition to the festival, I would use my interviews and public appearances to educate people about the importance of responsible tourism practices. I would encourage tourists to engage with local communities and cultures in a respectful and sustainable way, and to support local businesses and initiatives that prioritize environmental sustainability and cultural preservation.

To raise funds for my cause, I would organize a charity auction featuring items and experiences that showcase the unique culture and heritage of my country, such as traditional textiles, handicrafts, or cooking classes. All proceeds from the auction would go towards supporting local initiatives that promote cultural exchange and sustainable tourism.

Overall, my advocacy campaign would aim to promote cultural exchange and understanding, while also encouraging responsible and sustainable tourism practices. By showcasing the diverse cultures and rich history of my country, I hope to inspire people to engage with and appreciate the beauty and complexity of different cultures around the world.

Advocacy: The Department of Health reported in December 2022 that HIV cases increased in the Philippines at a rate of 21%, significantly higher than it had the year before. These glaring statistics illustrating the rise in HIV victims were a result of the lack of sexual education in our local communities and nation as a whole. I strongly believe that with proper sexual education, we would be able to prevent the sudden spike of HIV cases and other sexually transmitted diseases. Equipped with knowledge about the safety precautions of sexual intercourse and the importance of contraceptives, it will clear the misconceptions and put an end to the prejudices among STD patients, which leads to the development of a community and safe space free from condemnation for the victims.
