Advocacy: Mental Health Awareness

Nowadays, people are less likely to talk about their issues since doing so makes them feel invalidated. My advocacy focuses on encouraging conversation and raising mental health awareness. As a person who has experienced it. I simply want to make sure that everyone recognizes that, as members of our community, we all have the right to speak up for ourselves and to be heard. Don't be afraid to speak up, and keep in mind that your rights and worth are immutable.

Advocacy: Access to quality education towards the youth and cultural diversity awareness

According to the great philosopher, Gottfried Leibniz, “we all have a reason to exist”. At first, I did not know my purpose of living aside from existing but then as I grow up, I have realized that life has more to offer. That what if my existence could make a change towards a person, what if my existence could change someone’s life? And in that thought, I have come to a conclusion to use my platform to voice out my advocacy about accessible to quality education. I have serve and will continue to serve as a role model to the children because they are the future leaders and hopefully, as we touch their hearts and souls, it would be a domino effect of inspiring other individuals. Let us all remember that education is the most powerful tool any human being could have.

Advocacy: Inclusivity for Autism Spectrum Disorder

I wholeheartedly believe that every individual, including my brother who was diagnosed with Autism and Global Developmental Delay in 2011 at the age of 2, deserves understanding, acceptance, and support. As an advocate for Autism Spectrum Disorder, I strive to promote inclusivity and create a world where individuals on the spectrum can thrive. I believe in celebrating the unique strengths and abilities of individuals with ASD as well as expressing equal amount of love, while understanding these differences as they are while working towards a society that embraces neurodiversity and providing them sense of comfort, safety, and belongingness. Through education, awareness, and access to appropriate resources, we aim to foster acceptance, break down barriers, and ensure that individuals with ASD have equal opportunities to reach their full potential. Together, we can build a more inclusive and compassionate world for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Advocacy: Breaking Beauty Standards

Growing up in a generation where society has been dictating that being different equates to being an outcast, a black sheep, that beauty can be measured with numbers 1-10, percentages, etc. That love and success are only for those who fit the societal standard for the word "perfect". I have been transforming mindsets and breaking the standards that should've not existed in the first place, radiating the hope and reality that we should focus our perspective beyond what we just see, just as we understand the word "beauty" more than its literal meaning. Their words and judgements do not perfect us, we perfect and complete the world and we are the beauty that we should see in it. Soon, we could change what we thought is normal, break what we thought is constant and live in a world that not just tolerates but rather accepts. For a transformative beauty is about the purpose and passion to change the world.

Advocacy: Equality for All

I believe that everyone should be treated with respect and dignity and that’s why equity is one of our core values. We strive to prevent discrimination in our services, in our groups and in our workplaces so that everyone feels welcome and at ease. I want to help balance the equation and give women the support they need. With my experience and voice, I hope to share with them the challenges I’ve faced and overcome, the lessons I’ve learned, and the joys of winning. Women must support anyone regardless of gender. We are just starting to realize that we can be whoever we hope to be and that we’re all in all aspects in life. Different, yes, But also, equal.

Advocacy: Historical & Information Literacy

The quintessential student-leader is first and foremost a militant. And being both a communications major and a student-leader, my belief in promoting our youth as the primary purveyor of truth is strong. Our history etched on the walls of Intramuros is rich— martyrs like Liliosa Hilao and the Acebedo brothers of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila have sacrificed their entirety to our nation in order for the truth to be preserved. I believe that like them, we play a big role in learning information literacy and using it as a tool to combat the ever-rampant historical revisionism. Especially as an aspiring Journalist, I believe that we have the capacity to influence our community and lead them towards significant change. Our intellect and strength should be utilized to awaken the hearts of each Filipino citizen by delivering them a history not tainted with deceit. With that, we are able to serve as catalysts of a mass movement that brings the light of the truth to the entire Philippines.

Advocacy: Impartiality for Marginalized Sectors

Life's challenges are inevitable. Life can throw us curve balls no matter where we go. In my 20 years of existence, I've realized that every problem has a solution. Opening our eyes to reality, there are many injustices in our country. As a future social worker, my objective is to educate people, particularly those in the marginalized sector – a segment of society that does not receive sufficient treatment and assistance from the government. Giving them proper and appropriate assistance with dignity and respect based on their needs can serve as a reminder of their rights. Helping them to be self-sufficient and utilizing their own abilities and strength can bring an impact in their lives so that they may survive regardless of whether our government is incompetent or not.
