Sabbath Light

“Resting in God’s Steadfast Love”

As the week draws to a close, we pause to breathe — to step away from the noise of our labor, the endless cycle of news, and the heavy burdens we carry. The Sabbath is not merely a pause from work; it is God’s loving command that we come home to Him. In resting, we remember who we are: not slaves to busyness or worry, but children deeply loved and cared for.

After the tremors and storms that have shaken our nation, both in nature and in spirit, God whispers again: “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10) His Sabbath is an invitation — to trust that He remains in control, to lay down what we cannot fix, and to find peace in His promises.

The psalmist reminds us, “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare Your steadfast love in the morning and Your faithfulness by night.” (Psalm 92:1–2)

Let us honor this holy day by resting in His presence, spending time with loved ones, and allowing our bodies and spirits to be renewed by His grace.

Call to Faith:
May this Sabbath draw us closer to Jesus Christ — our true Rest and Redeemer.
