Sabbath Light

The Gift of Sacred Stillness

As another week ends, the Sabbath comes softly—like the hush after a storm, like dawn after a long night. God, in His infinite wisdom, carved this day of rest into creation itself. It was not an afterthought, but a divine rhythm—a pause that restores body, mind, and soul.

This day is God’s reminder that we are more than what we do. The world measures us by busyness, but heaven measures us by being still in His presence. “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10) And Jesus Himself said, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.” (Mark 2:27)

When we honor the Sabbath, we allow God to do what we cannot—heal what is wounded, calm what is anxious, and refill what has been poured out. It is in resting that we truly receive.

Call to Faith:
Let this Sabbath be more than a pause—let it be communion. Rest, reflect, and rejoice in the One who makes us whole.
