By the H&L Editorial Team

Priority recommendations include:

1. Expand nationwide metabolic syndrome screening through primary care and annual wellness programs.

2. Standardize waist circumference measurement as a routine vital sign.

3. Strengthen implementation of healthy school nutrition and physical activity policies.

4. Intensify taxation and public education regarding sugar-sweetened beverages and ultra-processed foods.

5. Promote active transportation, safe parks, and walkable communities.

6. Encourage workplace wellness programs focusing on exercise, sleep, stress management, and nutrition.

7. Improve public access to evidence-based obesity treatment and preventive cardiometabolic care.
